1) Schools kill creativity by forcing students to sit in a classroom for hours while just listening to the teacher lecture the whole entire time.
2) Forcing students (specifically in high school) to take specific courses that they do not enjoy.
3) Excessive amount of research papers and essay with structured formats does not allow for students to be creative.
4) Students are not allowed to use the word, “I” in research/essay papers. They should be allowed to use “I” because the writer should be given the freedom to talk about his/her own opinion about the subject of his/her paper.
5) Majority of teachers do not allow students to choose their own paper topics; they usually have a list to choose from which was made by the teacher.
6) Multiple intelligence: some students are better in some subjects than others (ex: art, math and writing). The school should recognize this and perhaps form a new curriculum that allows students to choose which subjects they want to take.
7) Schools do not encourage change, or experimentation. It is always the same thing that is conducted.
8) Schools are more about theory rather than hands-on activities.
9) Schools use more multiple choice answer questions than short answer questions. They should use more short answer questions so that students can justify their answer.
10) Uniforms do not allow students to be themselves, and to express who they are.
